SH Hotels & Resorts, an affiliate of global private investment firm Starwood Capital Group, is a hotel brand management company that operates 1 Hotels, Baccarat Hotels, Treehouse Hotels, and SH Collection properties. Leveraging its marketing, design, operational, and technological expertise, SH is the force behind some of the most groundbreaking and dynamic hotel brands in the world.

The Development team drives new business opportunities for the company and its various hotel brands, through relationships with owners, developers and other external groups as well as working closely with key internal stakeholders such as Legal, Design and Finance.

The Opportunity...

The VP , Development will report to the SVP, Development at SH Hotels & Resorts. The job function includes a focus on overseeing underwriting and analytical aspects of the deal process, engaging on contract negotiations, and taking an active role in generating new deal leads.  

In this role, the candidate will interact regularly with key leadership across the organization and assist the SVP in preparing deals for internal approvals. The candidate is expected to foster strong working relationships with various internal stakeholders.

Given the nature of the role, particularly the extensive interactions with internal and external constituents, the candidate will need to be a self-starter that possesses excellent interpersonal skills and takes initiative.

About the role...
  • Oversee hotel profit and loss projections, returns analysis, and management fee valuations.  
  • Engage in and at times take the lead on LOI and management contract negotiations.
  • Actively generate new leads and distinguish between strategic and non-strategic leads.
  • Educate self on the brand(s) and work with Marketing to produce focused pitch decks.
  • Organize internal performance metrics and resources efficiently.
  • Compose emails, memos and internal reports for deal approvals and leadership updates.
