Casa Madera at 1 Hotel Toronto www.tocamadera.com, will offer an elevated Coastal Cuisine, and organic take on traditional Mexican cuisine, in a sophisticated setting. Casa Madera will showcase unique interpretations of Mexican food and cocktails served for dinner and weekend brunch. The menu will focus on sharing dishes that amplify the bold, playful flavors of Mexico, using organic, seasonal ingredients. It will also embrace health and wellness with farm-fresh plates, alongside generous choices to host vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free guests. The expansive culinary program will comprise of a raw bar, taqueria, starters and salads, and specialties served on lava stones.

1 Hotel Toronto is in search of an inspiring Casa Madera Executive Chef, a first-class culinarian who is a proven, impactful and natural leader for our signature restaurant. Delectable cuisine stems from his or her culinary innovation, imagination and deep knowledge of nature's most valuable ingredients.  Our Casa Madera Executive Chef will maximize the talent and realize the potential of every team member. Our Ideal Candidate: 

  • Passionate about food and a minimum of 3 years of similar work experience.  
  • A post-secondary diploma or degree in the culinary arts would be an asset.  
  • An expert in culinary operations, a strong leader and a proven track record in guest and team member engagement and financial performance.  
  • Excels at communication, both verbal and written.  
  • Is flexible and willing to meet the demands of a 24-hour operation.
