We’re currently searching for an Area Director of Labor Relations, who will be the guru of the Industry Wide Agreement for bargaining unit team members at 1 Hotel Central Park and 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge. The Area Director of Labor Relations is the key to maintaining positive labor relations with the union while ensuring a high-performance culture that emphasizes our brand mission and point of view, as well as upholds ambitious standards for every team member, sets them up to attain challenging goals and evolves the workforce and 1 Hotels culture through ongoing development and ever-evolving needs of the hotel.

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Passionate people leader with expertise in labor relations, negotiations and collective bargaining with a minimum of 7 years of similar work experience.
  • A post-secondary diploma or degree in Industrial Relations, Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality Management or related field would be a plus.
  • A strong leader with business acumen and a proven track record in driving team member engagement and maximizing financial performance.
  • Excels at communication, both verbal and written and ability to build trust and strong partnerships with all levels of leadership and team members.
  • Experience working with the NY Hotel and Motel Trades Council and Hotel Association of NYC Industry Wide Agreement (IWA) a plus.
  • Prior operations experience in a quality luxury hotel brand preferred.
  • Is flexible and willing to meet the demands of a 24-hour operation.
